Spaghetti and Meatballs

On top of spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
I lost my poor meatball,
When somebody sneezed.

It rolled off the table,
And on to the floor,
And then my poor meatball,
Rolled out of the door.

It rolled in the garden,
And under a bush,
And then my poor meatball,
Was nothing but mush.

The mush was as tasty
As tasty could be,
And then the next summer,
It grew into a tree.

The tree was all covered,
All covered with moss,
And on it grew meatballs,
And tomato sauce.

So if you eat spaghetti,
All covered with cheese,
Hold on to your meatball,
Whenever you sneeze.

I, however, have never been lucky enough to find this legendary meatball tree that man have written songs about. So I made my own. Ground beef + ground pork + Italian sausage = 100% goodness. And that's with a home made red sauce and extra stinky Parmesan cheese, folks.

A catch-up on my New England activities

So after moving to Cambridge from Los Angeles (God, I miss you so much) in August, I was told by the locals that THE thing to do in New England is, wait for it... apple picking. FML.

And so I picked up a zipcar with some friends and drove out to Bolton, MA, which is a good 45 minutes from Boston. At the end of the mini trip I was somehow left with 45 lbs of apples and 10 lbs of peaches at my apartment. Holy... I was up to my eyeballs in apples. So when life gives you apples you make apple everything. I think it took me almost a month to finish off.

The 10 lbs of peaches were rather easy to make use of. I made peach preserves and peach cobbler with my buddy Joanna. Mmmm, the peach cobbler was out of this world delicious. Sorry, I don't have a picture of it on a plate a la mode and all that jazz. It pretty much went directly from pan to stomach. I don't think I chewed.

And do you like my peach preserves label? Haha, I really need a life.

Now here comes the apple stuff: apple pork chops, apple muffins, apple jam, and apple pie.

I also made apple sauce, apple crisps, apple dumplings, and apple tart! The tart and crisps were really good and pretty too! But my mouth got to all of it before the camera did. Le sigh. It'll have to wait 'til next time.

The beginning of the end (of my waistline)

If your stomach is anything like the bottomless pit that I call my own, you will seek ways to satisfy it. I do it by ways of seeking out the best food places in the city and cooking. I have always had a passion for cooking. With school out of the way (yay!), I have been cooking A LOT! Friends have suggested that I start a food blog to capture all the stuff I make. And I have taken heed to their sound advice and started this blog. This blog will probably include stuff I eat out and stuff I make. However, I will usually only post pictures and such. Recipes may or may not be provided unless there is an overwhelming outcry of injustice for my lack of doing so for any particular dish. In which case I will take the time to post you the recipe. So make comments and enjoy!

Now if only I could find my camera...
